Year: 1975

Set: Topps (Rate)

Card: #77 Mike Current

“ Offensive line and punter in college. Love it! ” -rmpaq5

“ The front is alright, the football helmet looks really strange to me though. How do you lose part of his arms in a posed picture? The back looks like a football themed pinball machine. Too much wasted space on the back. ” -davidhandberry

“ Good looking 1970s card. Great job topps. Mike Current was a punter in college as well as a tackle at Ohio State. Loved it in the olden days when they did double duty. ” -parsley24

“ Offensive linemen used to have to block like this and if they moved their hands or arms at all from this position, the referee would flag them for holding, true story. ” -carthage44

“ No debating that this is a mid-70s Topps design. I like it. The mostly green back is my favorite part. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Nice front. Green and black back is pretty hard on the eyes. ” -NJDevils

“ I haven't collected football cards since I was a little girl. This was a nice design. ” -Doe MG

“ One ugly story. Bankruptcy, home foreclosures, and looking at serious prison time for sexually assaulting children. Committed suicide with a 20-gauge shotgun to his head. ” -C2Cigars

“ WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHH WWHHHHHHHOOOOOOO! 1970s Vintage Football. Ha nice name "Current" If I don't already have this card, which I don't think I have, I should get it for funny names and definitely to get one card closer to completely that set. Hmm a Tackle card, do Tackles get cards any more? ” -captkirk42

“ I don't think you'll find very many football cards of Tackles nowadays. The banner design reminds me of 1965 Topps baseball. ” -Lerxst2112

“ 1975 was a good design for Topps football. The font in the pennant could have been "cooler", and the oversized helmet in the right corner could have been smaller if they'd have abbreviated a bit more. But overall I still like it. Not my favorite, by far, but pretty decent. ” -kents_stuff

“ ...oh, and I should have pointed out that it's not too often you see a Current card come up as RCOTD! Okay...I guess someone else will surely also point that out. ” -kents_stuff

“ One of the last set I assembled by hand as a kid. After this point, I only bought complete sets. I always hated that Topps had a contract with the players and not the teams too thus airbrushing out the team logos and names. ” -cjjt

“ I totally wish I had all the old football sets. There is something I totally love about vintage football. I am not sure if it is the non-game poses that are pretty standard across players and the lack of the modern day surroundings, but they are awesome. This looks like it could have been taken on any small town backlot field. Awesome! ” -muskie027

“ Nice set, wish I had more cards from it. ” -Doc Floyd

I have less than 50 football cards, but own exactly two cards from this set -- both are #77, Mike Current.

I'm getting older but I still love the cards from the 70s and early 80s. I love that back in that time the players posed for photos a lot.

Yikes.  Most infamous person to grace the RCOTD?
