This was the first baseball set I did a serious run on completing too. Even bought a box at the hobby shop. Ended up short. I liked the design and color though.

I always liked the card design of this set. Sure it was over produced and the stock is thin but the design is great.

I love this set for so many nostalgic reasons. Makes me think of sitting around with friends ripping open packs in the hopes of getting one of the many error cards in the set. Those cards were so valuable back then.

I will admit in a public forum to buying boxes of these in college, and I agree with the thought that at least you know what set it is, 28 years later. DeLeon had a nice rookie season, but cratered with the team about the time the Pittsburgh drug trials were happening.

I always loved this set. It’s a shame there is not more value to it, but it has a sharp look. The errors are annoying, but they are mostly minor garbage that most eyes might not catch unless pointed out. This set is one of my favorite Donruss sets. Donruss did a lot of cool designs growing up. Even the current Panini Donruss brand still puts out great designs in the front of the card. Don’t get me started on the back though.

I was nine when this came out and thought the nameplate was a facsimile auto.

How odd I have been going through this set and am finding it shabby and poorly made. I am going to post a question on the forum. About the worst set.

One of the most infamous sets of all time. I dare to say this card set is as recognizable as a Mantle or Griffey RC just from the border. Every collector with some junk wax has at least one shoe box of this stuff. Nonetheless, growing up it was all I could get my hands on. I love it, worthless or not. I really, really want Donruss to remake this set. They have done similiar borders but I want paper and speckled red just like these. Topps has redone it's own sets again and again. How many times have they used the 1952 style?! Even the Topps Living Set, its own new flashy set is a style remake. I wish Donruss had a heritage style set.

I was in college when this came out, and I had completely stopped collecting then because (a) I needed to study, a lot, (b) I spent most of my spare change on my girlfriend, and (c) it was a pain to take the bus to the Woolworth's downtown. My little brother (10 years younger) gave me a few packs for Christmas that year, and 28 years later, I have a complete set. One of my three favorite junk wax sets.

Peace and cards, David Building up baseball sets slowly but, well, slowly. Residence in New England has no bearing on my favorite teams, players, or how I pronounce "card." Forgave my dad for putting his '52 Mantle in his bike spokes, but not my brother for plastering his room with my Star Wars stickers.

I'm a much bigger fan of this design on red than the blue used for the Best of A.L./N.L.sets. Wasn't crazy about most of the photography I've seen in this set.
