Year: 1987
Set: Donruss (Rate)
Card: #310 Ron Robinson
“ Until reviewing this card I never realized how much Donruss influenced Pinnacle. Take away the baseball section of the border and I would think it was a mid 90's Pinnacle card. This was the first year I collected but ironically I didn't care for Donruss at the time and mostly collected Topps. Now I dislike Topps and miss all the other card companies (Donruss, Fleer, Score, etc.). ” -davidhandberry
“ Love this set. It's simple but has character. ” -chvlDm
“ Ugh ! Have the card-makers learned from history that it's just too difficult to get clean cards when using black borders? Ron lost a bid for a no-hitter with 2 outs in the ninth. ” -baseballcardstoreca
“ I thought this was a good design at the time. Still think that way. ” -cjjt
“ I always like when a real aka: Original Donruss card pops up. In many ways I am glad that Panini is keeping the brand name alive but in most ways I wish they hadn't. This original card has the aesthetic feelings that the new Panini cards can't capture. ” -captkirk42
“ The only good thing about this card is the logo on the front. oh, I am not a Reds fan, just like the logos on front. ” -NJDevils
“ I love this set. In terms of overall year for all sports and all companies, is 1987 the best design year ever? For me yes! For others, I'll probably get yelled at for saying that, but the baseball sets were awesome and the Topps Football set was great too. Hockey was pretty great. I don't remember basketball, but I give it all to 1987! ” -muskie027
“ Probably my favorite 80's Donruss Design. Like the black border. ” -kirkscards
