One item to note is that it would be so much easier to trade from that era if you find others in your area so you can potentially meet up and not worry about the cost of postage. Social media sites may have groups in your local area to facilitate this.

With that said I have made some trades with those years both incoming and outgoing from this site so there are options.

That's how I got back into collecting baseball cards as well - I've been very active collecting Garbage Pail Kids and Wacky Packages for some years now, but about 7 months ago I got a deal on some Boston Red Sex team sets from the 80s up to 91, and I got pulled right back in with the enthusiasm I had back in 87 lol. Because I have a very specific strategy I use to obtain the sets and lots I need (patent pending), I've ended up with a bunch of extras as well - I've got SLEWS of late 80s/early 90s procards AHL hockey cards, 2 1985 Red Sox Topps team sets, a few graded Clemens rookies, and a bunch of PawSox team sets, if anyone is looking to trade for Red Sox stuff. :) But because the Junk Wax stuff was SO cheap, I've been able to complete my Red Sox teams for 1978-1992, and have started working on the classic vintage stuff, which is also a million times cheaper now than it was when I was a kid.

If you have a spare room, or basement, make a card house. I have so much junk era wax commons I really don't know what to do with them besides donate them to goodwill. Got about 10,000 cards ready to go right now. I live near Allentown, you can have them, you just have to pick them up. I am doing the Philly show in September, near Valley Forge if that helps ~Greg

Welcome to the obsession!  I have been collecting since 1986 and hate to try to estimate how many cards I have.  Great way to get into it is those high (over) produced cards from the 80s and 90s.   Sometimes though they are hard to find because they are worth next to nothing so dealers don't keep them around.  I have boxes full of stuff from that error that I considering donating to a kid's home or something.  I recently gave away a bunch of duplicate hockey cards from that era to a buddy's son and he was excited to see Wayne Gretzky, Mario, Yzerman, etc.  Good luck - the thrill is the hunt.
