Anyone on the internet can create a burner account and log on to this site and add whatever stupid prices that they want and it will impact the value of your collection on this site. It would be like letting the cast of MTV's Jackass decide how much money you have in your bank account based on how many times Johnny Knoxville can stand up after a hit to the jewels. Look at your multisport collection that is valued at $75+. If someone offers you $10 for it yoou should take the money and run.

I have tried to come up with some sort of value of my Saints collection for insurance purposes. I don't want to shortchange myself if the house burned down or got hit by a tornado. I don't plan on selling it. The fun is in the hunt to complete all regular Topps New Orleans Saints. While some cards are irreplacable, others could be found rather easy.

He hasn't logged in since April 6. It's possible that if he gets an email letting him know he has a message, he'll log back in and answer it, but I wouldn't totally expect that to happen.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Seeing as though "he" was only on for a month and then seemed to have "pulled a Houdini" I doubt also .

As of now, until sweeping Price Changes on here take place, I will use them for and only for establishing what value cards are featured in my albums.

Why is this thread still alive? Oh yeah, because I've posted on it.
Just for fun, I checked out my collection again. For the longest time my 1969 Reggie Jackson rookie was allegedly my most valuable card, topping out at something like $600, $300 -- I don't remember. Now it's plummetted to $63.49. Sigh. Play the market and you just get burned.
(Don't trust prices here)

I just checked the last ended auctions for an no slabbed Reggie Jackson rookie on Ebay and the prices for the last five were high of 180 and low of 16. The slabbed ones were considerably higher. I did not include any re-prints or obvious reprints, but like our site did not take into consideration of condition.
The last 5 completed for non-slabbed as of 10 minutes ago were
150
180
64
16
23
This means that the average price of a 1969 Topps Reggie Jackson rookie is $86.60, which indicates that our pricing on this site is not as bad as people think, they just know theres is in better condition than most sold.
The only way to correct this price is to only include graded examples or give different prices of different grades.

I appreciate the effort, but the fact is that I care very little about how much that—or any—card is “actually” worth. I knew the $600 was crazy high. I know that $63 is on the low side. And of course, you have no idea of the condition of my card
I only care about prices when I’m buying. And then I do something like you did with the Jackson.
And when I sell, I let the market decide by holding a true auction.
Prices here might...MIGHT...give you a very basic idea of where to start. And that’s fine, so long as people don’t rely on them slavishly for trading or selling.
