What is the "default" card condition on the checklist? I keep trading away my nice looking cards, and I am receiving lots of cards I just throw away. Not at all what I expected.
Is it because I am new to trading here and people are dumping their junk on me? These have been 100% good feeback guys too, so I wanted ask here before I said anything. Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you!

Your condition requirements are clearly noted on your profile which should help. Not sure if this was stated on profile before your recent trades or not?

Unfortunately, I added that to my profile in exasperation after the fact. It's all been pretty much 80s and 90s commons that have been the issue, just trying to finish some sets. Not like it's a big money issue, just thought I was getting close to completing some stuff and I'm really not.
Thank you!

I have found that often the "sender" will (should) make mention any issues prior to shipping although not 100% of the time. That would just be considered courteous. As for default condition particularily for most post-80's condition really shouldn't be a condition although again not everyone here I'm sure had been able to keep all their cards in NM condition shall we say. Again as usual communication is the best tool in assuring the best trade for both parties possible. Just my opinion though.

Did you make it 100% clear during the trade proposal process what your card condition criteria were? And if you're going to throw cards away, throw them my way.
-------------------------------
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I had one of those trades a while back.Instead of calling the person out here I decided to write him and let him know how disappointed I was with what I received and tell him what he should do in the future. It was one of those trades I hesitated to accept in the first place becuase it was to his benefit to start with and all the cards I sent were in perfect condition. All I got in response was "Sorry I disappointed you".

It can happen from time to time. I have had a few transactions where condition disappointed me as well.
I looked at your completed transactions and it looks like you have only made 5 trades so my suggestion would be to 1) Stick with it, I have been more happy than disappointed in my trading and 2) start by making a small PWE trade with a member you traded with and then keep a personal list of which members you were happy with and which ones disappointed you.
I think over a longer trading period you will find it rewarding overall.
I have quite a few matches that I think would help you and I'm sure I could find plaenty of cards I wanted in return so maybe we can look at something in the future? I honestly haven't found a lot of time for trades lately though and I pulled back most of my want list mainly because I haven't had enough free time to handle a lot of trades at this time.
Good luck!

I like BSwaggers points alot:
1) Stick with it, I have been more happy than disappointed in my trading and 2) start by making a small PWE trade with a member you traded with and then keep a personal list of which members you were happy with and which ones disappointed you.
I have done #2 for many years here with good results.
thanks, mark

Thank you, all great information here.
A pre-sendoff "hey this one card isn't perfect, just so you know..." is one thing. What I have experienced is widespread delivery of what some of us old-timers would call "set fillers" or "placeholders", which is quite another.
I don't think I'm being too picky, either. The condition explanations haven't changed much in a very long time. I subscribed to CPU way back when!
I have traded on another website for many years with mixed results. The no-fly list is long and illustrious on that site. I realize I'm new here, but I will stick with it and continue to give it my best.
PS. I don't physically throw them in the trash can, I donate to my nephews so they can maybe learn some history of the sports and the hobby.

i can only speak for myself, but as i added everything from my collection here, all my pre-existing list from antother site went in as "my collection" i only started adding for-sale/trade as i received new cards. As i reorganize my PC i am pulling the dupes out and will not add them to the fs/ft list unless it is something i would want to receive. Alot of the stupid early 90's glossy coated cards are remaining as dupes in my collection due to bricking :( along with a majority of my 80's and earlier since i was prone to leave them on the floor instead of putting them in the storage boxes. even yesterday i added some cards from the 80's i got in a blind lot and 90% ended up as fs/ft but i did add some dupes to my collection due to bad corners, edges, bends or rips.
let the guy know you didn't appreciate the conditions of the cards. I know i would be willing to return a trade if someone were super unhappy.
