Hello everyone. I am new to this site and this is my first post. I am a Tony Gwynn collector, not really interested in other players. I have spent this quarantine time organizing my collection by year and set. This site has been extremely useful to help me identify cards and organize my collection. I have been playing the Topps Bunt app (It is a little silly but it has renewed my interest in trading). I would like to trade for some cards instead of just buying on eBay and my local card shop. I have all my cards listed but I don't have my trade/need list done yet. All of my duplicates are there though. I have a bit over 600 unique cards with about 3000 duplicates. If anyone has any interest in trading let me know. I am excited to get more active in this community.
-Daniel
P.S. I have some of the Project 2020 cards on order if you are interested in getting any of those. I know a lot of people despise that set so please be kind about my poor taste.
Edit: It was brought to my attention that my post and title are pretty unclear. I am looking to trade my Tony Gwynn duplicates for Tony Gwynn Needs. I have my cards uploaded and my needs/for trade/want lists done as of last night.

Tony Gwynn faced Greg Maddux a total of 107 times, more than any other pitcher during his career. He batted .415 and never struck out.

Greetings to all The Gwynn Collectors out there, as well. Start a new thread or piggy-back this one - I chose the latter. Let's see how it goes.
I stopped collecting back in 2002 with a really good collection for it's day. After getting everything logged in now, I'm at 8.5% collected - I see that more culprits followed Topps Tek in destroying the fun of collecting...only now we do it with whatever memorabilia we can scrounge from the stadiums.
So, for now, I think I am going to keep the Collection confined to his playing years...but we'll see about that. My Collection has all the cards and Sell/Trades detailed - I'll be filling up the WantList manually, but if I don't have it between '82 and '02, I'm looking for it. I have several goals in reviving the Collection:
- Get that Collection Percentage up over 30 percent in the next few years.
- Get rid of excess Gwynn cards and fill in as many gaps as I can...and I have gaps at 8.5%.
- Part with non-Gwynn stuff [i.e., a '99 Jim Thome UD Ionix 206/750] to get them to homes more excited than mine. Almost all baseball, but I do have a small spread of basketball and football...and 90s hockey - plenty!!
- Trade the non-Gwynn insert for the Gwynn insert in a particular set [i.e., '98 Donruss Preferred Great Expectations Jeter/Garcy for Gwynn/Guillen].
- Take a really nice card and trade it for a bunch of base, oddball, and less-valuable inserts [see bullets 1 and 2].
- Rejoice when a Trade fills the needs of another Collector. I'm less about the money.
- I also collected New York Mets cards during my time, so I have some Piazza inserts...and some other cool things. That Collection is far bigger than the Gwynn one, so I don't know if/when that one will get catalogued or not. I'm debating whether to fire that one up or not.
- I also have small Kirby Puckett and Craig Biggio collections that I will probably dismantle, as collecting can get costly!
So let's strike up a dialogue when you get a chance - would love to get to know some other Collectors.
-Doug

Welcome fellow Gwynn collector! I just turned trading back on so feel free to send an offer. I did a quick check and we have quite a few matches as well as similar collecting goals.
This site is great for filling out your collection and there is no shortage of Gwynn collectors either. A few people on here have some extremely impressive collections. Good luck!

Unfortunately, I don't have any cards from your wantlist, but it's nice to find other Gwynn collectors!
Good luck!

To all Gwynn Collectors. I have 188 of his cards.
I would love to trade but due to the fact that I'm only interested in trading for Nebraska Football players. We do not have any matches for me.

I am in an uncharted territory with your wantlist. You have 1 card I need on your For Sale/Trade list and I am pretty sure I have Gwynns you need.

Great to hear from all of you. I'm in the Quality profession and when I saw a crowdsourced database like this available, it made me smile. I also enjoy jigsaw puzzles, which is kinda' how I see putting these Collections together. Check back with my Wantlist...so far, I have only gotten through 1990, so I still have much more to enter.

Additionally, in putting my database in, I came up with (7) cards that I have questions about matching with the database.
- 1987 card of French [Canadian?] origin that has no blatant print ownership. The card has Gwynn on one side...and Fernando Valenzuela on the other.
- I have a 2nd version of the 1997 Topps Hobby Masters HM5 that does NOT have the Diffraction Foil.
- 1997 Upper Deck Memorable Moments [a wavy Die Cut] 5 of 10.
- My 1999 Pacific Aurora Sample from the 20th National Show in ATL.
- My 1999 Pacific Aurora Pennant Fever Autograph #16 [60/97]
- My 2002 Donruss Best of Fan Club Die Cut #19
- My 2021 Panini Prizm Green Wave Prizm doesn't exactly match the one pictured.
Since they did not have a match in the database, they remain un-catalogued, except for the Panini Prizm, which I flagged as the Green Wave Prizm (in spite of the fact that the diffraction does not match).
I have a picture of them, but I have to pin them to a website, apparently...to add it. Let me consider my options...wish I could just attach the file, but that's not how that works, here.
EDIT: I made it the Profile Pic temporarily...
