I recently had a trade proposal that asked for 18 cards, almost all RC from the mid-80s in exchange for almost the same amount of cards. Considering the RC being asked for, the trade offer was heavily in the other's favour so I looked to counter the trade. Unfortunately he did not have a lot to trade on my want list but I did manage to add a card or two including a 1994 Bowman's Best Posada. Though this did not bring the trade close to equal balance, it allowed me to be relatively satisfied with the trade. He accepted the trade but then informed me that the Posada card was not very nice, faded over time, and that I should choose another card to replace it. I had already exhausted what he had so I told him that I would still take the Posada even if it was not perfect.
18 cards - PWE sent for less than $2 or small bubble mailer that sends for less than $4. Anyone ever pay more for either of those? He then comes back to me and says that he no longer wants to go through with the trade because postage will cost him $21 or $22. Really? On what planet does he live on? Or is it because now he is not getting a huge pay off in the trade? I am going with the latter. I have received and continue to receive PWE trades that have everything from $1.20 to $1.85 as postage. Even when the cards are pacakged where it has to go through customs, the cost is $10.50.
The trade now sits in the Unfinished box as he updated his end yesterday after I questioned him on it. This member is fairly new to the site having joined in June of this year. Fairly quick to make a "No Trade" list. Well done!

That sucks Bruno! All the more reason why I have extremely limited my trading this year. I still won't do PWE inside the US, but I always communicate before a trade is agreed to in any way. Some people just have no idea what they are doing until they try to do it and realize that they didn't know what they were doing!

Spaz, I think this member knew what he was doing which was trying topull a fast one. Asking ofr RC that are priced at $4-5 and offering one good card and the rest less than $1. When I tried to balance the trade, he came up with another lame excuse, and then used postage as a deal breaker.
In the last while, I have seen more new members come on the scene and with that a few more bad apples.

Indeed, the postage claim is bogus. Honestly, PWE is fine and cheap, so unless he was sending an armored car to deliver his cards, a PWE trade should have been quite fine given that he's getting apparently more valuable cards that he also apparently wants back. Honestly, even if he did have second thoughts, losing sight of the fun of this trading activity (and not getting caught up so much about card worth) is his loss. He should own up and make the trade and leave out the excuses.
As a new member myself, hopefully this questionable swap hasn't soured you too much on trading with newbies.

Nope. I welcome honest and fair value trades, ideally vintage for vintage, modern for modern. Fortunately there are many more honest traders than the few that think they can take advantage of others like this guy thought. Yes, it is his loss.

Fast one. I've gotten a rash of messages with new members offering cards to sell me. New, as in created an account that very day, new. And when you start you handle as CashMoney and haven't logged in since...... Unfortunate side of the current collecting environment where everything/one has gone insane and trying to make a quick flip. Real bummer.
And to myrke, new members acting like this are the exception, not the norm. Speaking for myself, I haven't had issues with new members. And for yourself, your avatr gives you bonus points.

From my experience if you tell the Post Office you are mailing Baseball Cards you are paying way up to ship to Canada. $13 for a PWE was my last experience. The Post Master suggested sending as Non Negotiable Documents. I have made 4-5 Trades to Canada. 2 of my Packages did not arrive. The last Trade a couple of months ago neither of us received our Cards. I hear a lot of success stories but mine have not been. Not trying to be negative just sharing. Any suggestions would be appreciated for the future.

I have probably over 400 of my trades in PWE. Only since the pandemic have a couple not arrived to me. 95% of them cost the sender less than $2 to send to me. Find another postal outlet or better yet, use a self-checkout. 15 cards = 1 USA Forever Inernational stamp.

I dont mind doing PWE's for a card or two or commons but if I have a good RC or star I like to send with tracking and dont mind that little extra postage.
