I went on hiatus earlier this year due to other priorities, but I sold on Sportlots since around '08 or '09. While I agree the website is not necessarily pretty, it works well. In particular, I found inventory loading and management to be easy. Also, from what I could tell, I never really had any account issues as far as getting my sales, shipping, and fees accounted for. In "store" mode there are no listing fees (only fees on sales), no listing limits, and no listing expiration, which is all pretty nice. I only used auction a couple of times. Also, you can bank your sales and spend them as credit for other sellers' cards, which is a roundabout way of trading that I liked.
That said, based on the fees and the infrequency of sales, it was disappointing to me. I had 20k+ cards listed and I would get a sale every once in while, so I rarely went over the $5 threshold for the month to get my fees from 70% down to 50% or less. Over the years, I had several hundred dollars in sales, but also paid a lot of fees. I got better over time in accounting for the fees in my shipping price, but again, sales were infrequent. I know there are some sellers that have achieved high volume sales, but I was not one of them.
On Sportlots, I did sell a former Major League Baseball player a copy of his own card, which is one of the coolest experiences I have ever had as a card collector.
If you do try out Sportlots, I recommend holding back some of your better/more expensive cards until you've got the hang of it, particularly the fees part. Good luck!
