Year: 1969
Set: Topps (Rate)
Card: #208 Donn Clendenon
“ They shouldn't have cropped so close, it looks silly with his name and team box superimposed over part of his head. Otherwise, a fine card. ” -Billy Kingsley
“ Another ERR/VAR card! How sweet! ... the best part of card collecting is searching for the errors & variations. U gotta try it? ~BOB~ ” -BOBSCARDZ
“ I always loved the fun cartoon drawings on the back with the tidbits of info about the players! ” -bkklaos
“ Simple be effective design. Absolutely love the back of the card. ” -carthage44
“ Great back of card. Nice absence of company name on front, I think. ” -NJDevils
“ Interesting card. Clendenon was drafted from the Pittsburgh by the Expos in the 1968 espansion draft. He was then traded to the Astros, but refused to report and a few months later was then traded to the Mets. So he is pictured here with Houston (with whom he never played), in an airbrushed Pirates uniform while he was actually a member of the Expos. ” -DaClyde
“ Another Curt Flood type deal - traded to the Astros, but didn't report. Not a bad design for the card, but not my favorite of the 1960s. Other than the horizontal 1960 set (not a fan of horizontal cards), it's down there. Still better than 95% of the designs since 1985! ” -vrooomed
“ One of the simplest front card design I've seen. Yet still very affective. I gotta say that I'm not a big pink salmon fan though, for the back. ” -JimStaub
“ Obviously still in a Pirates uniform due to the black and gold piping, but why wouldn't you just leave the P on the helmet? It looks odd blank. ” -jlaz10
