I collect baseball but I have a binder for each team. In that I use a priority to determine which card to use, also for me i dont have more than 1 card per player. So in a situation where I have multiple cards for 1 player for the same year, I use a priority like this:
- autograph
- refractor
- dufex
- Topps
So for a regular base card, I prefer Topps but if the Topps card is horizontal, I will use another brand of card that is vertical.

No, I may have not been clear. This is my "master" team set by year meaning Kansas City Chiefs team set BASE cards only. No parallels insets and such. I still collect those and other brands, but my main focus is always on my Royals/Chiefs base card "master" team sets. Baseball is easy 1969-today all topps. Just trying to be consistent with my football collection.
This is VERY doable, except for some of the 60's cards and short prints, even then they are still attainable with patience.

Good point about the Score cards. Even though we have Score cards marked as RC, they're not. They are college uniforms, college teams listed, college team logos, and NO pro teams listed nor mentioned on the cards.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Thanks. That clears things up a bit. I think we are getting some useful information here. I like the suggestion that Score rookies are in college uniforms and that would be a strike against them for me. I also would personally prefer a larger set because I don't really want my team set to be 3 cards. I still think Score is a solid choice if you don't mind the college uniforms. Donruss would seem like a solid option if you don't like the college uniforms.

instead of limiting your choice to one, I would recommend choosing two
score + 1 other
1 other can be whichever you like best (maybe medium box/pack price since you have a lower one), or second could be a release that is later in the season that may have rookies in team uniform instead of college to get a taste of both.
thanks, mark

I just want to point out the terminology error in this thread. A "team master set" in ANY version of the term is every single card of that team for that specific product. It includes base cards and parallels of the base cards, as well as ALL inserts and ALL versions of those inserts. What you are talking about is just a simple "team set" of all base cards for that team in any given product. The term "Master Set" has become increasingly misunderstood for the past decade and I want to help set the record straight about that phrase. "Master Set" means EVERYTHING (including 1/1's), not just a specific type that doesn't include every single card! "Master Sets" of any kind are basically impossible in today's hobby. Topps and Panini have basically eliminated the chance to get a "Master Set" of ANY product, even if it is just a person set OR team set.
As for the OP's actual goal, Donruss would be the logical option over Score and Prestige. Both of the latter sets have RC's pictured in college uni's and Score never tells who drafted them while Prestige usually does say who drafted them but has no logos for the NFL teams. Panini has really stuck to the core ideas of the brands that they have obtained over the past decade or so! Prestige really wanted to be the first product to mention who drafted the RC's and would release in early-summer when it was a Playoff or Donruss/Playoff product (even without photos to match the teams). Score always wanted to be one of the first on the market before (or right at) Draft Time no matter what company held the license for that brand.
Personally, I really miss Upper Deck having licenses in MLB, NFL and NASCAR!

I would pick Prizm over Score myself.

I'll second this, for the same reason. I usually end up collecting Prestige, though.
