It’s so funny that these so called low print cards are cheap and easy to find yet try finding a 1991 pro set Lawrence Taylor auto which had 500 cards produced = impossible

One-of-Ones are basically a joke these days! I can easily get base 1/1's of 7-time NASCAR Champion Jimmie Johnson for about $30 each now. There are so many of them out there that no one even haggles on the price anymore. Even autographed memorabilia 1/1's for a superstar can be had for less than $100 now! Topps and Panini are destroying the value of their cards just by producing so much of everything. A 1/1 isn't really a 1/1 if there are 12 different ones! When Printing Plates first got released in packs, four 1/1's was okay. But now there are several more 1/1's besides the plate cards! It's gotten ridiculous!!!

Exactly what I was trying to say before! The modern "RARE" cards are nothing compared to the "RARE" cards from the 1980's to the late-90's. The rare cards from the 90's may have so many more copies than some of the current cards, but they were so much harder to pull back then.

The 2 major differences between the rare cards of today versus the rare cards of the ealry to mid 1990s:

Overall production of the other cards in the product
The number of rare cards being produced

The sets today are being printed in smaller quantities, and there are a lot more of the rare cards (just look at Topps flagship, 5 different 1/1s, the Pink, Black, Camo, all printed less than 100, etc) which is making the odds of pulling a "rare" card that much easier. In the 90s, there were a lot fewer rare cards available, even if there were higher print runs/SNs than today's cards, and they came out of packs less frequently - you could open three boxes of product back then and pull one of them, but today if you open 1 box, you generally get at least 1 of them.

I remember my first "rare" insert parallel I pulled back in the 90's. I felt like I was on a path to making my first million bucks! Oh yeah I just pulled a rare insert that everyone and their momma's was going to want! There was only 2000 of these cards made and I had one! All of my friends wanted to see it because they had never seen such a rare card in person before. What an awesome time that was.

I have no idea what ever happened to my 1993 Stadium Club 1st Day Production Keven Koslofski card.

Still remember 92 when the inserts first started to appear. Dealers and others figured out the systems pretty quick.. fleer inserts were like 4 per box.. 1 in each quarter. Once you found the first the others were easy to find apparently. One of the dealers told me the system... didnt go there anymore after that... i do actually still remember and have the first "pull" though... the clemens insert set #12... back then about 10 bucks.. now........maybe 2
