1993 Topps seems to be the first Topps card with him... is that considered his RC or is the Bowman from 92.. all other 92 show his to be Minor cards... If my HOF PC is of HOFers that were rookies between 84 to present with card would I use for Trevor Hoffman?

The '92 Bowman was his first MLB card, and that is what designates it to be his official RC.

what is true RC?
that question has gotten more cloudy in past 20 yrs, and is left up to each individual perception (collect what you like)
many times in modern cards, there are several bowman card made while player is still in minors and main set cards like topps 'flagship' and other brands have RC designation after they appear in MLB game.
to confuse new folks even more, just scroll to a recent year of topps update, look for rookie card, then look at all of the card for that player..
so basicaly back to the beginning, review all cards and get what early cards you like from whatever brands you like..

Yes this is very confusing... his MLB debut was 1993 againts LAD and he was on the Marlins
The Topps 93 card would be a Rookie Card.. and all of his stats are from 93...
I NEED DIRECTION... EBAY says 92 Bowman what is the actual rule of thumb for this

That’s what mzentko was saying. There is no rule of thumb. This site counts their first flagship base set release as a rookie. So for Hoffman, 1992.
Some collectors consider it 1993, as that’s when many of his cards came out.
Some consider neither, and maybe only his very first issue, minor league or not.
Like most things in this hobby, it is all up to the collector.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Him as a Red is as strange as him as a Marlin.
Hoffman following the lineage of The Nasty Boys and John Franco before them would have been a nice libe of dominating Cincy closers for quite a while from the late 1980s through the 90s.

I sell on EBAY. Do not use EBAY for RC information as people can call any card an RC. I have seen so-called RCs span three different years there.
