And as for the 1991 Bowman, I pulled over 100 cards (range #394-410) and there were only 5 cards that did not glow. Maybe there should be a premium on those? Anyone have a Nolan Ryan 1968 Topps #177 they are willing to trade?

Glow backs were printed using a different type of ink, unintentinally, and as a result those cards printed with this ink glow under a black light. There are 1991 Topps and 1991 Bowman that glow.

I am also intrigued by this "glow back" you speak of.

I had to bump this thread. I saw I was quite short on completing my set of 1991 Topps so I decided to buy a sealed wax box today. Heck, it cost me about the same today delivered to my house as they did to buy the packs in 1991. So am I correct that there are regular cards, dark logo card variations and glow back variations so there are really 3 versions? I'm just trying to get a handle on what the variations are. I'm going to look at the 1991s I already own with the daughters black light to see what I see while I'm waiting for the box to arrive. Thanks in advance to anyone helping to straighten me out.

Regular base no glow
Base dark logo far no glow
Regular base that glow
Dark logo far that glow
So 4 sets. Need a black light to identify the glow backs as, though you can take a guess at those that will glow, it will not be anywhere close to 100% accurate

Pretty sure my daughter has a black light so that isn't an issue but thanks for the information so I know there are 4 versions and from reading the thread none seem to be very rare. I just I guess feel in my mind that I need to categorize them.

In the Topp cards, neither are very rare so if you have a large quantity, you should be able to put a set of the regular cards glow and non glow backs. The dark logo variations are much rarer in both versions. My experience was that the 1991 Bowman glow back is the real rare one

So to get me started in breaking these up. Does it make sense to first just look at the back and divide into dark and regular back and then divide into glow or not? Also, as long as I dug this up are there any collectors here actively working on any of these versions in case I need to do any trading to fill my set once I am close?

Remember, Dark Logos were only 2 sheets worth, not the whole set.

And I was thinking you would chime in with something along the lines of "You will not find the glow backs being listed on here"

We actually have a request in the IRs to list them. I'm still trying to figure out HOW before we deny the request. Also trying to figure out best way of doing it, if we do it.
