Very cool. I would love to have been the recipient, but I also wanted to stay married. I'm glad they are going to a good home.

Love it! I do not know Darrell personally but from what I do know from posts and interactions here those cards will a) be respected, b) find a good with him, this community, or his local community with donations and kids, and c) BE RESPECTED! ( yes I know that is a repeate). Good show! Paul I have not had much contact outside the community forums but all the best! From what everyone says here you are the tops! (Topps!)

I can't say I dream of obtaining that much all at once. I know I don't have room for that much. I still don't have all of the 30K+ collection I acquired in October put away yet. There are still 5-6 big boxes full of cardboxes sitting on the floor here. For Paul's collection, I'd have to sell or trash all of my books, magazines, DVD's, VHS tapes, video games and anything else taking up shelf space that isn't cards or other collectibles. It probably still wouldn't be enough room! I'd probably need to buy an outbuilding and get an HVAC system installed in it.

Thank you everyone for the kind words, I intend to hold to my promise of not gutting the collection and over time I will go through ALL of it!! It is funny you should sasy that spaz. I have a shop on the acerage that is 26x32 with a 12x23 mezannine as well as a 16x26 adfdition with all pre-built plywood shelving. I have more room than I will ever need and my mezannine can be expanded to 26x23 with a bit of framing. Was already considering it asmy hobby has eatern my office alive LOL. All in due time.

I wish I had that much extra inside space. I have landspace for more buildings, but not the money to add them right now. My collection is in the basement. But every wall without furniture or appliances against it already has shelving full of something! The garage/barn/loft isn't climate controlled so I can't store cards there at all. It would take a ton of work to make it efficient to keep any part of it controlled AND keep out bugs, birds and other animals. It'd be cheaper to build another building or buy a pre-built one and have it hooked up with power and its own HVAC system. It would be cool to have another man-cave that is just my collectibles though!

OUCH! That really sucks that you missed out on it. The whole thing started with perfect timing for Darrell though. I thought the collection would sit there for a few weeks before anything was finalized. But I was wrong!
