I know this has been discussed before and can probably search for it, but I already have a headache from staring at the lower right corner of 3 cards.
Can somebody please explain the difference between the pink, purple and partial pink/purple triangles on this card?
In the photos on the site, it appears that I have variation A--which has the mostly solid pink triangle. The card itself has some vague purple around the triangle though which would make me think I have the pink/purple variant C. However, the site photo for C looks like B as it is mostly purple.
Is there a distinctive way to tell what the pink/purple variant looks like?
Thanks,
Joe

I would say the A version has an incorrect image. I have the pink triangle which is very pink with a distinct straight line containing the pink. The other 2 var's look more like a rounded edge.
Send me your email address and I will get you a picture, (I cannot host pics to add one)

edk Your pics showed the difference. It looks like I have multiple C variants.
We need to get a better set of pics on the site.
Thank you for the quick response!

If the image here is incorrect, submit an inaccuracy report (IR) on the card's page where the image is bad and we can get those incorrect images removed.

There are actually NO VARIATIONS. It's just a case of ink shading with the magenta and cyan plates. We just had the same discussion about a Brad Lohaus card.
You'll notice the shade of brown jacket between the two cards.
PINK
PURPLE

Well, these cards have been listed as variations, forever, at least since '89, that's 30 years! I understand where your coming from but WE either let them ride, change them all, let ADMIN decide. And here we are at the double-standard again, all for 1 or 1 for all. I luv the TCDB, but when it comes to VARIATIONS, we are just too "loosy goosy" in my opinion. I collect ERRs/VARs/CORs and have for many years, so "let it ride" would be my vote!

Just because something is listed doesn't mean it is correct for our database.
Ink shading/intensity is not a VAR in our database. Otherwise just about EVERY card from this era could have VARs listed.

Yes, but what do you propose Chuck? TCDB is loaded with Ink shading/intensity cards dating back to the 60s. Probably something to think about. I believe ALL cards should be listed, but that's never going to happen. Tricky area???

Not a tricky area. Admin has been clear that printing flaws / ink levels do not count HERE as valid variations (wrong backs, blank backs, blank fronts, etc.)
If the Stan Jefferson is simply a printing flaw that caused the "variation", then, acoording to TCDB rules, they should be removed
I don't remember when I submitted an IR about this variation, but I don't see it in Pending and the card is still there. I guess Admin has decided that this one is allowed to stay.

Beckett only recognizes two. Pink and Purple. That's it.
This is what started my confusion.
I wonder if a new catoegory for keeping tracking of questionable variants, miscuts, blank backs, etc. should be created?
