Perhaps this has been discussed before but if a card has an auto that came directly from a pack/product, but the set was not intended to be an "Autographed" set does it still need a note for the auto? I have noticed on a lot the "Letter" or "Name" or "Nameplate" sets that many of the cards but not all are autographed. This is specifically for cards where there is no mention of authenticity typically seen- only that the memorabilia is guaranteed.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but if all copies of card X were autographed before being inserted into packs, then the AU Note should be used, even if none of the other cards in that set were autographed. If some copies of that card were autographed and some were not, they would typically be listed as VARs, again with the AU Note for the signed version (with the most common exception being signed and unsigned cards that appear in different insert or parallel sets, which often happens with "Jersey" and "Autographed Jersey" cards for example).

Certainly seems like more info is needed for exactly what card(s) you are talking about to confirm anything at this point in the conversation. Pack-pulled generally means yes it should be noted as AU. But also remember that lots of cards were released in packs as signed versions in the past that aren't considered the base card (or insert card). So more info is definitely needed to make sure it gets listed exactly right.

Hi All, thanks for some insight and clarification. To me this one is extremely difficult because the cards I am referring to are usually extremely short-printed and sometimes never surface. Also, I would never 100% know if they are pack pulled- hence why I usually stuck to the guarantee that is printed on the card for auto or memorablila or both. And then, for example what if maybe the two I visually verify have an auto- but i would never see another card that perhaps does not have the similar auto...do i list as a VAR as HUT suggests?
This isn't a huge problem as this doesn't happen in a lot of sets- but I just wanted to know the standard and also if anybody has attempted to complete this type of checklist.
Thanks again!

Nothing about this is typical or standard. That's why we would need more info. Lots of cards in the 90's were AU'd and pulled from packs with no Authentication statement on the back of them. But there were also cards made by one company that another company got signatures on them and put them into the card market (such as Treat). Are you talking about something from then or something much newer?
No matter what, you can't be so vague. We need a specific set year, name or whatever else to guide you in the right direction. The answers will vary by year, brand, sport and so on.

Also, there's the newer idea of "repacks" where a third-party company takes all manner of cards, and repackages them. Meaning an after-market "addition" to a card could be considered "pack-pulled". You may not have been referring to this, but there are plenty of people out there (and some have been on here) not realizing that those are not "pack-pulled" if they are not in the original packging from the original manufacturer.
Please do give us more information and details about why you are asking. We still cannot help you with the amount we have.

The Kenny Stills card is in the same set as the Terrance Williams. This Stedman Bailey card is from the first set you linked HutNut. No need to fix card numbers there.
I'm assuming all of the cards in the Letter Patch set have autographs on the MEM piece after looking on COMC and eBay. In other 2013 autograph sets, Topps states on the back, "The signing of all Topps autograph cards is witnessed by a Topps representative to guarantee authenticity."
