For those of you who use binders and pages to store cards, where do you store the binders? Just curious, as I figure they would get quite heavy for a bookshelf.

I'm in the process of removing all my cards and placing them in penny sleeves, top loaders and bags. I never felt comfortable with binders; was afraid I'd bend a card turning the pages, moving the binders, the cards curling, etc. I like sahal694s idea of storing them flat on individuals shelves!

I currently store all my cards in boxes, but I’ve been mulling over putting my complete sets in their own binders.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

I have many different types of "bookshelves" loaded with binders (mostly Build-It-Yourself types). But I also have more specialized stuff holding binders. Pretty sure that I've posted this specific pic before on here (found at the bottom). Not a cheap cabinet at about $250 each. It's basically plastic, but with steel tubes inside to create massive strength. Most of my albums are stored in short wooden bookcases (2-3 shelves). Wood will bend over short time with the weight of card albums. But a small metal wire bookcase bought at Target holds some good weight too. That one cost about $15 but holds well so far (after about 8 years now). Here's the massive cabinet:

Most of the cards in my PC are in toploaders, screwdowns or boxes etc. Those in binders are upright, maybe only 4-5/shelf. There was an interesting post awhile back on this subject [need to search for it]. The debate was upright vs flat. Upright cons: curling pages; Flat cons: impressions left. So, I decided with my very expensive albums to hang them....no curly pages, no impressions. Works just like hanging folders. Amazon has some adaptable products, give a LQQK!
