Because I have so many doubles, I tried to do something I had not tried before, (although I am sure many of you have done it with similar success). I wanted to obtain my Topps series 2 baseball set, while not overloading myself with hundreds of doubles. I purchased a 99 card box, a 67 card box, and 2 wax packs of cards to start the series, then, through the wonders of this site, was able to swap and trade for the remainder of the set. A recent trade netted a Tatis Jr. and Alonso card to finish the series. I ended up with a grand total of 28 doubles. I know this is nothing spectacular, but I just thought it was a pretty cool way to go about it. The point of all this is just to illustrate another way this site can enhance collecting. While I do like doubles, at my age, I am trying to reduce the amount I have, so I have less to deal with in the future. Thanks to all who made this small acomplishment possible, and everyone else on this site.

CONGRATS !!!!!!!!! and having  " only 28 doubles " in my view is pretty awesome :).........Many here add checklist, images, and fix things. Some answer forum questions, while others " raise hell " and provoke debate, 

Being a solid trader, in my mind, adds to the site just as well. It gives people a reason to engage, and hopefully eventually " do more". Which is why this is BY FARRRRRR the BESTTTTTTT and only trading card site on the internet, at least for me :).

I was able to trade for almost the whole base set outside of about 5 packs this year.   So I could get a wrapper or two from each series.  

Nicely done! I started buying a jumbo hobby box of each series and a regular hobby for update as it nets me the whole base set and minimal doubles. The downside is that it costs about $265 for all three. The upside is the autos, relics and SP's.

I like your way a lot and try to employ that with every other set. I have probably finished 8-9 sets since I've been on here just through trades. Not bad for 4 months...

Oh yeah, I've been preaching using TRADER LOTS on here for awhile now. Especially members that have older sets to complete....late '70s to mid 90s just PM me. I'll trade ANY of my dupes for cards I need, only makes sense. Great post!
