Due to the huge amount of rookie cards available is it worth my time/money to collect all of these cards or just concentrate on the key rookie cards? I have a copy of a Beckett catalog and the listings show which are the key rookies but not the "secondary" rookies. Thoughts?. Thanks 

I don't collect based on anyone else's list.  Collect what you like and can afford, making your own would be my recommendation.

It will end up driving you crazy if you are always chasing a rookie that is listed as being the hot flavor of the week. Stick with collecting the rookies that interest you and you feel fit in your colelction. Like cl_kyle said, don't base your collection on someone else's list.

Having collected for 50 years I can tell you that many of today's "Hot Rookies" are tomorrow's "Has Beens".

Completely agree....especially all of those people that had stacks of Wally Joyner, Gregg Jeffries and Marquis Grissom rookies!

Guilty on Grissom, not sure how many pages of his rookies I have in one of my childhood binders

Collect what you like because you like it. 

As stated above collect what you like/want to keeping in mind that they are not like Pokemon and you don't have to "catch 'em all!"
