Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I am very concerned about the widespread use of the term "reprint". Heck I didn't know that sooooooooooooooooo many cards from the 1960s and '70s etc.. were ever REprinted. I am beginning to suspect that some of these "reprints" are just very bad quality originals. We all know that many pre 1980 trading cards had very poor print quality, partly due to the media you are printing onto.

I collect: Baseball, Football, Hockey, Mostly Vintage pre1980, My Homie teams - Washington/Baltimore Teams Senators (Twins, Rangers), Expos/Nationals, Redskins, Capitals, Bullets/Wizards - HOFers - Non-sport (mostly TV shows and movies). My Trade List is very much a work in progress CaptKirk42s Trading Card Blog Curly W Cards Strive For '65 YouTube klandersen42

As a collector that has enjoyed chrome, refractor & prizm officially liscensed reprints, this really disappoints me. I understand certifying an autograph, even if its on a napkin. But to label this a reprint and give it potential credibility in the market hurts the entire hobby. PSA should have just labeled it a genuine autograph and treated the counterfiet card as a blank sheet of paper.
Regards, Greg
Full disclosure: I did have to go the C2's email to spell conterfit - yikes, counterfit - nope, counterfiet correctly. Engineer spelling...

It's not a technicality. It's incorrect. That card is a fake. Not a reprint.
Now more than ever, collectors are counting on companies like PSA (and they're the most popular these days, it seems) to distinguish between counterfeits and the real thing. If we can't trust them to do that, forget about buying vintage cards.
I'll add that this isn't the first issue I've heard about with PSA either. We all know the human element in grading, but my understanding is it's gotten awful, including cards receiving one grade, being broken out and resubmitted, and receiving a drastically different one.
So all credibility is fair to me. Not just because of this, but I would say this one breaks the camel's back for me

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Growing up in my circles, we just called everything that was fake a "reprint" ..I get what you're saying as there are official "reprints" by topps etc and labeled as such.. but counterfeits are often referred to as reprints.. PSA probably should make the distinction clear, however when I see the label, I know that it is meant that the card is counterfeit
