I am currently working on all of my "master" Chiefs team sets. 1960-1963 is Fleer. 1964-2015 is easy...Topps. Now that Topps is not in the football game anymore, what would you guys consider to be the "master" team set (yes I know this is all subjective). What should I use to fill 2016-??? Score? Donruss? Prestige? I am leaning more towards Score because they are decent cards, good base set, and relatively cheap and easy to find. Donruss seems to include some sweet legends players as part of the base. I do want to be consistent so whichever one I decide will be the one for all years. I don't want to do one year donruss the next score. There needs to be a nice flow in my album...lol.
What do you consider the "set" for football after Topps has gotten out of the game. Which company would you use to complete your yearly team sets?
Saying all that. My want list and for/sale trade list is up to date and if anybody has any 1960-1963 Fleer Texans/Chiefs or 1964-2015 Topps Chiefs to trade send me a proposal.
Thanks for all your opinions.

For my Steelers, I have gone with Score ever since Topps stopped. For the reasons you stated, and also because they go back to 1989 and thus have showed staying power. I don't want to switch brands every 5 or even 10 years.

I'd agree on score for football. It gives you the longest possible consecutive years streak.

Great question, I have been trying to decide how to do this for football and basketball. I get wishy-washy about the answer. So far, I have not come to a conclusion but found that I have collected all of the bases since Topps stopped. I even drifted back with some of the sets and started collecting earlier Score/Donruss/Collector's Choice..also while collecting Topps. I don't want to, my teams sets are getting very messy, but since I have no choice to not stick with Topps, I had no direction and got lost. Once I ultimately do decide (and stick with it), I'm assuming the licensing will be up for grabs again and I will have to re-decide all over. This is also why I have been more player focused recently. I have dedicating more time and money to just the couple of players that I really followed, which then brand/parallel/insert doesn't matter as much as I want it all.
I do wish that I could complete my team sets, that would make my brain feel a little better. I just can't make that decision.

While I'm not a football guy, you didn't say you wanted qualified opinions I would also go with Score. Based on my understanding, it has the largest base set, which, in theory, means you'll get a larger, more accurate representation of the team...and not have to pay an arm and a leg to get them.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. While the true answer is collect what you want to collect that answer is a canned answer. I think I also agree with Score because they have been making that set for so long.

I prefer the Score for their designs, cost, and ease of completing sets. And they're even cheaper if you buy them a year later in Walmart's clearance bins. My local Walmart still has 2017 Score packs on clearance.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Thanks everyone. Yeah it is looking like Score, though I still want more opinions . Does anyone know how long Panini has the NFL deal? I was thinking, it is funny I am debating between all of these "brands" which are ALL owned by Panini.

I don't try to master team collect so forgive my dumb question. Isn't this an impossible endeavor with all the 1 of 1 cards kicked out these days?

I'll cast a lonely vote for Donruss. Rookies in their NFL uniforms, not college.
