What size and types of binders do people use 

I like binders im thinking 2 inch d ring but then there is no way i get 1 year per binder

I use up to 3" binders D-ring with a good decent spline. I personally use Avery's professional. And with ultra pros platinum pages. I also insert upside down over the card a ultra pro penny sleeve to help prevent them from slipping out in the unfortunate instance of a mishandle of turning them at such an angle. They help fit a little tighter.

I'm of no help here. My collection of binders is as varied as the cards themselves. I do try to match the size off with the set-size. I finally did unify my HOF binders. But generally, I'm still at a point where I'll use just about any binder as long as it fits.

I have a couple of 5 inch but they are to big

3" binders are my ideal size. 

Except for a few one-offs, all of my sets are in Ultra Pro 3-Ring (D-Ring) binders. They're about $10 or so at the local shop and can hold up to about 1000 cards if you do 18 cards per page (back-to-back).

For me, the 3" binders are too bulky when I want to read the back of the cards. I have several 24-page Panini plastic ringless binders that are better to handle but the pages are not as good.

UltraPro makes those binders but are quite expensive and probably will take a lot of space.

I do the same as klimczak and vrooomed. I prefer 3" D-ring binders and usually use Avery brand. But, like Dan, I'll use any binders I can get my hands on for my cards. Always D-ring, but not always a specific brand or thickness. If I am buying them myself, I use Avery 3" D-ring binders. I always use Ultra-Pro Platinum pages for my cards. Four inch spines get too heavy and anything less than 3 inches is only for a single player collection until that PC will not fit in there anymore. I'm not (really) a set collector, so I can't help much there. The sets that I do have are varied in what albums and how many sets per album.
