Can we remove all the Printing Plates Insert Sets from our entrie database ? Many sets have 4 or 5 parallel sets of Printing Plates. In a 400 card set, that can be 2,000 more cards, and typically we have 0 of these 2000 in our database. The Printing Plates inflate our total card count tremendously and severly reduce our percentages scanned.
I for one, would not care in the least if Printing Plates were erradicated from our site. Comments please.

They should not be removed. Weather we like them or not, they exist and have been a regular "hit" in card packs since 1997 (I belive). While the lower percentages are unfortunate, we wouldn't really be much of a Database if we arbitrarily choose not to document cards for any reason.
Also, just because they are not scanned and posted now, does not mean that they won't be in the future. I fully expect the Database to outlive myself, long form it may take decades before some cards get posted but there is no rush.
Just my opinion.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I'm with Billy, my sentiments exactly, plus it makes each and every player's collection list incomplete.

I wouldn't know what a printing plate was if I was eating off one.

As much as I dislike 1/1s, they're out there, they're collectible, and, yes, they belong in the most comprehensive of trading card databases. Do I have some, yes. Do we intentionally try for them, no. When my son decided to collect a player, we actually said at the very beginning, anything with a print run of 3 or less will be excluded from our attempts to obtain. But, those 1/1s, x/2s, & x/3s are still on the checklist.

when they first came out, i thought they had the cool factor going on, but over time, peopel started getting crazy with them because of the "1/1" concept, so lost the thrill in them. Regardless, they do come in packs, they are marked, and some people do collect them and this is a "database" of cards. Whether we like it or not, so let it be written...so let it be done

I'm with you on that. Way too many of them clogging up the database. I don't consider them collectible because they're one of a kind. Collectability has to do with allowing many people a chance to get one, and obviously once you have it, nobody else does.

Compromise. We leave them in, but they do not count towards the total card count or the percentages.
Were never getting them. The probability of the people that have them are also part of our database is very very low. There are a lot of sports card collectors out there, and 98 or 99 percent of them do not know about our great database.

with that in mind- i remember when i picked up some promo cards they were listed in the year/set breakdown but not in the total card listing at first. Wonder if it's possible to do the same? Separate to include in the set breakdowns like an insert set, not list on the master total card count list, but maybe when the individual loads their "Haves" list it shows for accountability?
I know it may sound confusing but hey.. i mean if we have Non Sport related cards on here, movie stars, etc, which I don't have no use for, leads me leaning to just keep the Plates. We shouldn't consider just the 1/1 factor. there are plenty of other cards out there that are 1/1's are a great cards at that.
