That is how it works. It does not match you up with people you also can trade with. I think that is because some people do sell cards here.
What I do is click on their name and open them up in a new tap. That way you still have the list open and can go back to it really fast.
I first look to see when was the last time they were on.
2.Look at their feedback % rating.
3. Then click on "propose a transaction" to see if their trades are turned on. Always check that one. (Nothing more annoying to come up with a list then find their trades are turned off.)
4. Then click back and click on "match Items on your for sale/trade list...." to see if you have anything for them.
Another thing I do to find cards is, go to a set you need cards for.
Click on "Collection Summary" then "Delete Multiples" Then Change the filter to "Wants" Now you have the list of all the cards you want for that set.
From there you can click on a "card number." ( I open it in another tab so I still have the main list open and ready to go back to) Then under the cards Image, you will see. a "number & Mentions in Collection"
Click on that scroll down to the list. At the bottom, you will see "For sale/trade". Now you have a complete list of everyone here that has that card up for trade or sale. I again click on a name and open in another tab. Then do the first 4 checks.
Once you get the hang of it you will be finding cards and people to trade with. I think it's faster than relying on the auto find and you can work on a target set to complete.
Remember most will trade any card for any card as long as the value of the list or card is close. Don't be trying to trade 5 cent cards for high priced cards. You will be shot down. Unless your willing to send them a bunch of cards to equal it out.
Tips. if you going to do a large trade send a message to them first. No point in spending time making up a large trade only to be shot down. Communication is a must. This is why there is even a massage place on the trade proposal page. Do use it. Even if you say Hi, would you like to trade?
Add an Icon. it's the face or image people remember first, then the name comes to people later.
Jump into some of the forums. The more people see you and get to know you. Will be a good thing for you and trading. Your already on the right track by asking questions. :)
Hope this helps you out.
Rock on!
What is that behind you!?! Oh, It's me! Looking at the cards you have, That I want. :)
