Starting to get into box breaks a bit, but am a little shocked at the prices that some people bid. I've seen people toss down over $200 on an Oilers slot with no guarantee that they'll get a single hit, let alone McDavid. I've done a couple and managed to get a Braden Holtby Shining Stars hit this morning, but mostly I look for the lowest priced teams rather than hunt specifics, any thoughts on box breaks? Are they worth it?

not for me, but it is a part of the hobby..
if you do buy in I would stay with longer term companies with good reputations

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Never tried n online one - did a few freebie ones with my best friend when he had his shop - I get e-mails from Collector's Revolution all the time, but can't justify plopping down money with little to no guarantee on return, and not knowing which team you're going to get assigned. But, it looks like they get planty of business doing it, so I guess it works for some people. Not for me.

Not my cup of tea but I am old and drink a lot of tea. I prefer to throw my money away on online gambling.

I did one ebay break for a small box of a premium set. Got the Browns for a small amount, with no guarantee that any Browns would be pulled but they said they would send something in that case. As it turns out they pulled one Brown, a fairly nice Brandon Weeden card. It seemed worth it to me. I will look for more when I have more time and if the cost is right.

Yeah I'm figuring out who's legit and has the best offers, just gonna be a once and a while type thing, sticking to Listia for single card action, unless I want something specific

I've never done one, but I've been tempted. If you're looking to get in on some, check out friendlyboxbreaks.com or friendlycasebreaks.com. They are a really good company and I've seen people get some amazing stuff.
