Hockey's not really my sport (although I did take my kids to a couple of LA Kings games when they were little) but I love this story. Thanks for sharing!

I got all the St. Louis blues in my first retail box of 2020-21 upper deck back in December, so that was pretty awesome! Other than that, the only pulls I have been really happy about are the Yadier Molina box topper and Junior Fernandez auto I pulled from a box of Gallery. Not huge hits, but it is really nice when you get nice hits for your favorite team.

Time to give reason for this positive thread to be back up the Board.
Yesterday, I picked up two parcels from the post office (3 actually but one was for my son). Both were large trades I had on the go. I just finished sorting the first one into my various collections. The great thing about this one is that not only did it reduce my wants in the 1972 and 1973 Topps sets, it also put the last card of the 2009 Topps set (#7 Mantle) into my binder. I still think short of acquiring that vintage RC of a HoF, the completion of a set is one of those greatest feelings in the hobby. And I can say quite assuredly that it is only because of this site and the trading that we are able to do that I managed to complete that set as well as all the others I have completed since I joined over 5 years ago.
Now into the second and even larger trade boxes.

Right!? I finished 1983 OPC baseball a couple months ago through trading here. That was the first set I collected and it was so close for so many years it only took me 37 years to finish it! I have to admit that finishing it by trading (or finding cards at shows, etc) is much more fun than grabbing a factory box and being done that way...something I have rarely done, and not once since 2002

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

I'm backlogged on my reading, but I just discovered that my Letter of Comment was published in Back Issue Magazine back in 2019. It's the only official LOC I've sent that publication to date.
I have now had a letter appear in 7 different magazines, plus four comic book titles, and my face has appeared in three different magazines. Got mentioned in Beckett Racing but never published.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Minor in the grand scheme of set collecting, but I finally filled a hole today. Being an 80s guy I always loved th 33/44 card box sets Topps/Fleer put out. I sold everything off back in 2000 so when I came back into it 4 years ago I went to track them all down again. One had been eluding me, the 1990 Fleer Award Winners set. Some guy named Griffey always kept the box at the $20+ level on eBay and sorry, not paying that. A few days ago I finally obtained it for a winning bid of $1. Okay, 4 for shipping so the total of $5 is what I'd expect to pay. Got it in the mail today and now I have the full run of Topps and Fleer sets. So yeah!?

Tired and trembling I am descending, will I have to stay here and live this life again?

Shoutout to the admins for keeping up with the ever changing release dates of all sport sets. (And reminding me how much money it's about to cost me to keep up lol).
