I got back into collecting right around the time that Sidney Crosby got drafted by the Penguins. After that I built a database in Access to track what was in my collection. A few years later my laptop which had that database went belly up after a thunder and lightning storm. A new computer later (which has since been replaced) I began searching the internet for a way to track my collection. The Access file as well as every other file on the old laptop were unrecoverable.
In 2009 I found this site and it was wonderful! Although at that time there were no forums, no IRs and even no transaction manager. I spent the next few years uploading checklists and scans in mostly the hockey and soccer areas.
As with many on here sometimes real life gets in the way and I had to take a break. Although I never left I just wasn't as active. When I fully returned I was determined to use this wonderful site for what I had originally wanted, track my collection. So I deleted my collection that I had entered and started from scratch. I am now very happy with how I have organized my collections and it has made trading very easy for the small amounts of trades I have conducted.
Whelp, that's it I hope everyone enjoys their time here and take care!
