I was wondering what the why some of my late 1970's Basketball cards have what looks like snow on them. Thanks, Phil

Photos taken at outdoor games?
Better possibility - Cards may have stuck to something else and little flecks of the ink have been removed.

It may be the powder off of the gum stick. I think I recall that "phenomena" from old packs with that tasty stick of gum inside. After some time of being packed, the powder would almost become part of the card and I don't think can be removed.

some of mine have that defect of snow as well.
as for posting pictures to the forum, I think you have to upload to a picture hosting service, such as imgur, then post the link to the posted picture.
I do wish it were easier to post pics here...many times I have wanted to share and do not because of that...

Snow the white rapper? I know you can find Drake on some Raptors cards, but what you're talking about is like retro celebrity!

Not sure about snow, but I read many years ago (probably in Baseball Hobby News or somesuch) that the occasional tiny black flakes or spots you see on an old Topps card is actually cigarette or cigar ash. Apparently, workers running the press were allowed to smoke on the job and occasionally some of the ash would fly onto the freshly-printed cards while the ink was still drying.
