I don't know what I was thinking. Over the past couple of days I acquired 2 collection. The 1st one was roughly 64,000 cards. Which was bought on Wednesday evening. The second one was 10,000 card collection in which I picked up today. So any pointers on how to organize and catalog 74,000 cards?

Not exactly sure what you are asking here, but I acquired a collection of about 35K single cards in 2018 and another one of over 37K single cards in 2020 (plus unopened product in both). Both of those were mixed sports, so I have a lots experience sorting large collections. What exactly do you want to know? My first suggestion would be to sort by sport, but if your additions are all the same sport, start by year.

I haven't ever added that many cards at once, but this sounds like the starting point. I don't think it can be done quick, so just do it at your own pace and do it effiecently so you don't have to re-enter them at a later date (which some of us have had to do a few times). Also enjoy the cards while doing it and have fun!

Please don't get me wrong I enjoy the sorting and organizing. But some days it just seems like I haven't made any progress. I guess I'm just having one of those days. Thanks guys for your input.

That's the #1 reason I wanted to take on the 2nd collection I acquired. Sorting and organizing is fun for me. I will add a good suggestion for you since you acquired the collections so close together. Organize the actual cards and combine the collections together before you start listing them on this site. It will save you a ton of time and boredom if you add the collections on here separately!

!!! I'm really looking forward to receiving, sorting, and cataloguing the 74 cards I have coming. Just thinking about your purchases is making me...well, I don't want to be crude...excited.

Start with a Box of them. If you can. have only that box in view. It will give you a sense of accomplishment as you see the cards removed from it... When Overwhelmed. Perform a bunch of small easier tasks to give yourself the feeling of Accomplishment.
