Interesting to see how much this varies. In my mind I thought about $.002 per card. The first few responses had me wondering if I under valued things. The last few I now think I might be more in the middle?

The majority of our inventory was acquired in bulk acquisitions consistently since 1989 at 20$ per 5k count bx, recently we have been paying 30$ and anticipate it going higher soon as the quality improves along with the junk wax era being less "junky" of late. The ceiling for cards and the sleeves are 1cent, factor in any lots you look at the cardboard boxes along with penny sleeves if present or pages as they may carry more value than the cards themselves.

I paid $20 for 10 long boxes = 8k cards. It was all junk wax but some HOF & Stars. No real big cards but I collect Cubs and pulled about 400 Cubs plus another 300 HOF guys & a couple hundred interesting cards. I sold/traded more than $20 worth and then took all the long boxes and sold the leftover 7k in one big box to a guy for... $20. 

I go on a case by case basis or rather a lot by lot basis. Also the overall condition has to be a minimum of pretty decent for their era. I've bought some great lots for a super "steal" and I have bought some awful lots for way more than I should have.

I have a massed  ofver 4+ million cards just that way (in Bulk)  $2 a thousand all day long. 1) the cards must be NR/Mt, with the exception of vintage. 2) Try to stay away from boxes wirh obvious lots of sets (they are almost always doubles and triples. Start with a price in your head (10.00 a box of 5000) then go a few bucks less ( tell them if the catds are NR you'll go to the $10 Good luck and email me at catskillcat@gmail.com if you have any questions.
