I am looking at 1967 Topps #150 Mantle cards and I notice that on some eBay listings, the card has a red dot above the "S" in YANKEES, while others do not.

All these listings I'm looking at are PSA graded, so I don't think it's dead giveaway for counterfeits either way. But, I just wondered if anybody had any thoughts about it, OR if there are any red flags I SHOULD be looking for specific to this particular card.

The backstory here is that my boss wants to buy one, and wants my help/opinion, so I'm treading a little bit on thin ice and appreciate any input 

I've never heard of the red 'dot' being related to fakes, seeing cards of all grades have both. Find a clean low grade without it, and you won't have the worry.

The Red Dot version, clearly a printing process error, is quite plentiful.  It's hard to tell if the dot version exceed the no dot version.  Because of the print error involved, the dot version cards will receive a lower grade when graded than an otherwise equivalent one without the dot.  Since a large percentage of vintage Mantle cards end up being graded, people will pay more for both ungraded and graded versions without the dot.

Personally I like the no dot version better because who likes an extra red dot if they don't need it.  But a '67 Mantle card is a great card in either form.
