Noticed today online that it looks like Topps Series 2 blasters are now $25. Series 1 was $20 so it looks like $25 is going to be the basic blaster price moving forward.

I've pretty much stopped buying packaged cards. They just cost too much.

Turning off trading because my collection is in complete disarray after moving and I don't know when I can get it organized.

Yeah I am starting to get to that point. I'll probably still buy a rack pack here and there if I can ever find them, but the extra five dollars for a blaster makes them seem more expensive then I am willing to pay. I'm not sure exactly why, but that extra 5 dollars puts it over the edge for me.

At $20 I could buy anything if I was on edge. For $25 I cannot push to buy a blaster unless I want to collect the set. I used to only buy discounted boxes after they were marked down 25%.

I will usually buy a couple packs or maybe a blaster of a set, just for the joy of the opening. After that I just trade to fill the set.

I was just thinking the other day how I used to get excited seeing the marked-down boxes. Haven't seen one in at least two years.

For someone, like me, who hasn't bought packaged cards in 30+ years, how many cards are in blasters? I wouldn't pay that much either. Current inflation is like 8% and that's more than an 8% increase. Topps and Panini are going to price people out of the hobby if they keep this up.

Almost every baseball blaster was $30 dollars at the place I visited today. I think the owner said basketball and football varied depending on product.
Speaking of "mark downs", do you think we will ever see them again? I see older, single packs from player x's rookie year being sold for almost the cost of a new blaster.
