I've guys do that alot along with mini helmets with football guys. I don't have enough room in my collection for things like that anymore lol

How many vards ypu send at a time? Shoot I've had over 500 success but I don't think I've got that kinda volume back in terms of cards

I've had a lot of success over the years too but I've definitely hit something of a wall at this point because most of the guys I need either don't sign TTM or are impossible to find.

Yea I'm running into that problem myself with my set needs. Every so often I'll get lucky and someone will post a private signing of a news in my set.

The Hudson Valley Renegades are very local to me (a mile to the stadium). They are now a Yankees affiliate. Pre-2020 MiLB re-org, they were with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Do those who send TTM just do it for the free guys? Or do you also send to guys with fees? Just curious. I have gone the free route, but because this has become so popular more and more request a "donation".

I've been doing it for about 20 years now with custom index cards I make up. Started out just sending to people who I knew would sign, but then began to focus on the 4 main collections I've got:

Olympic Gold Medal winners - just over 1000 returns (from 33 different countries)

Super Bowl/NFL/AFL Championship teams - almost 900 different guys

Hockey Hall of Fame members - 112 successes

College Football Hall of Fame members - over 400 successes

I've mostly gotten them for free, but will occasionally pay a fee or throw in a few bucks for guys who don't always sign. I agree that it's harder and harder to find people who'll sign without a fee, but that's one of the reasons I try to keep up with my Olympic collection. After all, it's a lot easier to get those Swedish curlers to sign than it is to try to convince a recent Super Bowl winner to do it without sending $$. LOL!

I usually wait until I have enough cards of the players and then do a large mailing to 20-40 players. For the US players (I'm in Canada) I usually cross the border (only an hour away from Niagara Falls) and buy local US stamps to send to those players, and US international stamps for the return postage. I sit down in a restaurant for a lunch, stick all the stamps on, and then back to the post office to drop it all off. I make a day trip out of it and check out some stores and whatnot.

I have about 10 TTM from the 90s and want to do it again. joined sportscardforum.com to help navigate who signs and such. there are some announcers i want to try before they retire and the clubhouse address doesn’t work anymore. the Allen & Ginter non baseball cards also inspired me as there are some autos i’d like. need to get my 2 baseball letters out though before the season ends!
