I have been meaning to for ages at some point start adding my collection to the site as well as uploading scans of my entire collection to help fill out a bunch of needs but am quite daunted by this task and do not know how to proceed. For perspective my collection as of today consists of 5,535 Autos (duplicates and 1/1s included) And to as of this moment I have only uploaded and added my 1/1s to my collection and that was a tough enough task. I currently have my collection Minus the 1/1s sorted Alphabetically by Players 1st name and am unsure how to best/most efficiently approach getting the cards scanned in and added to my collection. I appreciate anyones thoughts and suggestions on how to go about this I just am not sure how to start working on it.
Regards,

Get organized first and have a plan. If not you'll drive yourself mad

Yea thats my problem I have it organized very well now just not in a way that can make me get easily added. I used to have my stuff sorted by Set and that would have made it much easier. Currently I have them sorted Alphabetically by first name AND Card Thickness. so unless i reorganize gonna be very tricky/ slow to figure out exactly which i have from each particular set.

You may want to try to update by player.
You can browse to player main page then filter by card number.
That may flow more easily than finding the individual set.

Yea I think that may be something to Try. Sucks cause that just narrows the list down from 5500 to 1636ish different players. Gonna start with my Tom Savage PC see how that goes and if my soul dosent completely die while uploading those I may try a couple other players that way.

I primarily update by player using the card number filter and it can get tedious at times. If you're gonna use this method, I recommend using the advanced search feature rather than the one on the player page so you can simply type in the card number rather than scroll down until your finger wants to fall off.

On the player page, even though the Card Number filter is a drop down, it's actually a type of "ComboBox" (or what used to be called a ComboBox in the old days). What that means is you can type in the field and it will select what you type in. If you're looking for card #294, just type in "294" (without the quotes) and it will be the selected item. (An exception to this is when the card is multiple of the same digit repeating, such as 77 or 222, it interprets the repeated typing of the same number as wanting to go to, as in these two examples, as the second enty that begins with "7" or the third entry that begins with "2". I get around this by entering "78" or "223" and then doing the short scroll up to the actual number I want.)

Small exception, the combo boxes only work like this on a laptop or desktop computer. On an iPad or iPhone you have to scroll.

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. I rarely use TCDB on my phone, and when I do, it's at a card show to look up my want list or in a hotel to check the forums. 99.9% of the time, I'm using a computer to access the site.

Helpful tip, had no idea you could even do that.
