I did a quick search because I was sure it would have been talked about here already, but did not see any discussion. I watched a new show about collectibles on Netflix called "King of Collectibles". It follows around people at Goldin Auctions (based in south NJ) on their acquisition and sale of all sorts of collectibles. The show is fairly scripted, but there was quite a bit of trading card content. The most interesting to me featured a gentleman named Barry from Edison, NJ who had a meticulously organized attic filled with 4 million cards (his own estimation). I don't even know if that is a lot given the size of some of the collections on this site. They did not go into too much detail but he claims to have been told by someone (who? I don't know. could be Santa Claus or King Tut for all I know) that he had the largest sport and non-sport collections. Again no real detail and impossible to parse what he actually meant by that statement. Anyway, he was a likeable guy and his collection looked amazingly organized. It is a fun show, if not a little hokey. Anyone see this show and have any thoughts about it?

I watched it. I think It's an interesting show to me / us / TCDb members, since we're in the hobby.
Very few TCDb members chase down high end stuff in this way, but I know people who know people who do.
I have met people that have bought and sold items with Goldin [ and Heritage, PWCC, Alt and so on] and follow the auction results.
But this scripted show is 10% hobby, and 90% scripted to create characters, drama and plot. Adjacent to "Pawn Stars"

I watched it because it was about baseball card collecting. Are there any other shows that are more about collecting? I've heard of Chasing Cardboard, that's about it. You'd think there'd be a TV series about baseball card collecting with all the interest it has now. The only mainstream thing I heard about is when there was a news report about a ruckus in a Target parking lot a couple years ago...other than that, nothing.

I wouldn't do business with Ken Goldin if he were the last auction house left on earth.

is a really good TV series on Bally Sports called "The Card Life" hosted by Phillies relief pitcher Matt Strahm which I'd recommend.

I checked out The Card Life and the first episode I watched featured Kansas City and included TCDB’s very own DyeHardFan. Nice collection! And there was a bunch of talk about TCDB and trading. Great show - thanks for the recommendation everyone.

MLB Network has a show called carded that is good. I like the interviews with players about their favorite and least favorite cards of themselves
