You just expanded the scope from flagship to all Topps releases to include Heritage, Archives, Gallery, Bazooka and so on?

I'd say 2018 Topps. Not overly crowded with a smart design on the front, no bland white bordering, and the photography looks really good! The back of the card was also considered, with card numbers, stats and player facts that are all easy to read. The back design flows well from the front. The best baseball card back, in my opinion. A good mix of stars as well!

For me, it's probably 1956 Topps and 1965 Topps. For 1956, I think it's a slight improvement on 1955, and the horizontal layout, slightly larger form factor, and "portrait and action shot" really work for me.
For 1965 Topps, It's classic and clean. I once heard the design referred to as "what someone who knows nothing about baseball cards pictures when you ask them to picture a baseball card".
I started with 1987 Topps, so still have a soft spot for those. 1983 and 1984 Topps are good ones, too. Donruss run from 1982-1987 was top notch, only to be followed by 1988-1991, which are NOT top notch.

Dan did you just dump the kids school emblem for Taylor Swift?
Anyway this is probably thought of as more of an O-Pee-Chee design since its birth is from hockey, and I'm a baseball guy but these front and back....
Upper Deck did an insert set with this design for baseball but for the life of me right now I Can't remember the year or set they were in.

I am legitimately surprised that multiple people have mentioned 2018 as their favorite. It would be a bottom 5 set for me.
My favorite is 1986 Topps simply because it was my first set attempt and what got me truly into the hobby. I never finished 86 as a kid, but I did buy the 86 Traded set which was my first ever complete set.
My favorite designs that are not really attached to me are 1962, 1954, 1991, 1977. My favorites with a 20 at the front are much further down the list, but a handful that stand out to me are 2019, 2009, and 2015.

A few of my favorites include 1960, 1975, 1984, 2015, and 2019.
Also basically any year of stadium club is always a masterpiece.

I remember collecting these by the boxload. Many a lawn mowed to buy them.
