This was one of the last 2 cards from the 1960s decade that I got for my Phillies collection - the other being the Bart Shirley / Grant Jackson from 1966 - not quite the same as having a HOFer on the card, but actually pricier than the Stargell.
This is why I have my self-imposed "collection rule" (set in the early 80s) that if a Phillie is on the card, it goes in my Phillies collection and I do not attempt to get another one for any HOFers on it. (However, I do have a "rule" for getting one card for each HOFer pictured if no Phillies are on it, which makes for a cool set of pages toward the end of the binders for those that I do not enough to distribute amongst the players on the card.) There are a few exceptions to the first rule for cards from the over-produced years for those that I had. I still don't try to get them.
But yes, this does make team collecting (and in some cases, player collecting) difficult and/or costly.
