I am on the verge of purging my FS/Trade list or Baseball, Football and Basketball cards. If you see something you want from me, let me know. If we have no matches, let me know, I am a sucker for any hockey which I may not have already. 

That being said, as a buyer, what's more appealing to you when looking at a lot of cards to buy:

• All one brand
• All one player
• A lot of say, all HOF'ers?
• Doesn't really matter

Do you also care about individual years/sets/cards called out in the lot or do you like the mystery?

I suspect the answer to this may be all over the place. You have set collectors, team collectors and player collectors. Where you land on this will change the answer.

Doesn't really matter to me as long as it's on my want list.  Sometimes I do prioritize certain sets above others though...

I am mostly a collector of players I like.  Most of my individual card purchases are made at COMC.  However I do enjoy collecting certain teams as well.  Back in the late 90s and early 2000s I was a sucker for soccer and hockey lots on eBay.  I haven't bought any cards on eBay for quite some time.  At my LCS I mostly buy packs and once in a while I will search for specific singles.

BSwagger pretty much said it all.

For me personally buying bulk.  It would be:

1.  By player (950+ of them)

2. By team (Nebraska football)

3.  I give up buying bulk years ago because of not getting cards I need.   But I have thought about it lately.

When buying singles:

I take in a lot of things and add them all together. 

price on top then in no order:  player, set, Auto, Mem, Serial numbered, parallel, oddball, last card in a group and etc.    Price can be overruled by other factures.

I like to collect sets, so that's usually my first priority. But I'm working on several different sets, and of course, I like a lot of the insert sets, too. So, when I buy, I'm all over the place.
