I just bought a pretty good sized lot of cards on Facebook. My problem is if I have one card from a set I want the rest (im a set builder). I have like 50K in my collection and 250K in my want list. Anyone else do this?

Yep. You aren’t the only one. I’m a person that collects 2 of every card (idk why but I do), so if I’m missing one card, I’ll need anotheršš¤£

I usually wait until I get about 40 to 50 percent of a set before I add it to my want list, unless it's something I really want to collect.

I wish I did that. I this there is a 90's upper deck set with over 1000 cards. I have a couple and the rest are on my list. Lol

My rule has been 80% or better than I'll add missing to my wantlist. 90% they get to a binder

Wow. I put everything in a binder. 50% or more gets a full binder with the missing slots. I am probably doing much more work then I should.

Yes that is known as being a completest collector, like comic collectors that have to have the entire run of a series/title not just the first issue or a popular key issue.

I collect: Baseball, Football, Hockey, Mostly Vintage pre1980, My Homie teams - Washington/Baltimore Teams Senators (Twins, Rangers), Expos/Nationals, Redskins, Capitals, Bullets/Wizards - HOFers - Non-sport (mostly TV shows and movies). My Trade List is very much a work in progress CaptKirk42s Trading Card Blog Curly W Cards Strive For '65 YouTube klandersen42

I pretty much want every set as well but to avoid overwhelming myself, I go year-by-year. Meaning, I've added all sets that I want to collect through 1994. Once the trades slow down and I'm getting closer to completing those sets, I'll add 1995 to my want list, and so forth.
I need more bookcases.

Just did this 2 weeks ago with a lot of about 4K modern cards, haha. Still going through it but now that I have 96/200 unique bowman draft base cards, so i guess I’m collecting that base set now…my cutoff is usually 40-50% of the base set if I like it, otherwise just put it all on the FS/T list and add my favorite team’s players from the same set to my wantlist
