We had a lot of food issues in New Zealand during the 90s when I grew up. They covered both sport and non sport.
We often referred to them as Weetbix cards, as Sanatarium NZ was the most common distributor in the breakfast cerals and Weetbix was the most common.
In recent years I have noticed Sanatarium has started producing some card sets again, predominantly (exclusively?) rugby.
I must admit I didn't get too excited by collecting these, likely because we didn't eat enough cereal to build complete sets! I do have a scattering of random cards floating around though and should track down checklists to include them here. One day...
Member @Rugby36 has done a great job of entering the rugby sets.
Petrol stations, usually Shell from memory, were also in on the 90s card binge. They had rugby, cricket and "Cars of the World" releases. I have good stacks of the original rugby release, cricket and Cars - when they got near the end of the promotion stations would just give away stacks of the cards so my brothers and I made the most of that!
