Archives Signature Series sets are released without a known checklist for each subject. Topps will release the players, but they typically don't release the cards available for each player. Since each player has multiple different cards that get released, we catalogue them all separately.
Here, you can see the 2023 checklist I did for Will Clark the other day based on some IRs. Doing research, I was able to track down 22 of his cards that were released with 2023 Archive Signature Series. By uploading as many as we can the first go-round, we minimize the work needed later on. Since only Level 8 members can add an entry to an existing checklist, we are relying on a small percentage of the site population to handle the addition of new cards that are discovered. That's not so bad when we find 22 to start with and then find six more throughout the years - it sucks when we add one card, and then have to add 21 one at a time.
Here's where the research comes in. Putting together an Excel spreadsheet of all of the Crawford cards released will enable us to get as many uploaded in one shot as possible. For example, when I go to COMC and find this set for Crawford, and toggle to "Sold Out", I see 5 unique cards. An eBay search for active and sold/completed listings will likely yield several more, and I also use the site Mavin to search for older sales that eBay no longer archives on their site. Between these three resources, I'd wager that one can find 15-20 Crawford cards, if not more. Ozzie Smith had at least 40 cards in 2019.
If you want assistance, you can set up a forum thread on the set's page to keep it linked to the set, and begin by listing off what you know and asking for others to contribute. Or, you can make the Excel spreadsheet on your own and when it's complete, either upload it yourself (the set is here) or submit an IR from the set with it attached like you did initially (though this time, the checklist would be able to be uploaded for Crawford's set). Remember that the format for these calls for the original card number to be the number on the card, the name and team should be complete, the Notes should reflect the AU and SN, and the Note2 field should have the original set as designated on TCDB. And you'll want to be sure that you mark that your checklist has a Note2 field when uploading it, else it will be skipped and those designations will need to be added by hand.
I hope this helps. I apologize for the confusion on your first IR submission, but hopefully this helps you see why it wasn't able to be used in the existing format.
I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.
