I turned off email when I started here. Don't need them. New feature on what specific transaction input has been done is a great addition...thanks.

My inbox is already packed with messages so I just visit the site and see if the little envelope is by my name.
Maybe have different frequency options. Some may want no email. Others hourly, daily, weekly.

A daily transaction digest would be good instead of an email every time a transaction was updated.

It seems some want emails and some do not. Could there be a drop down option of how often, or not al all, to receive emails. Just like the filter on how long it has been since a member has logged.

Reading through the comments on this thread, it makes me think that we need an alacarte for the types of emails we receive:
If there was a radial button that I could turn certain emails on and off, I would check the following to receive: New Transaction Proposals, Transaction Messages, Counter Offers and Transaction Accepted. as these require action on my part.
If I could turn certain emails off, I would turn off, Package Sent, Package Received, and Transaction Completed along with New Feedback received. These are more of a heads-up email that I can view on the transaction page. I also use the message notifications tab for feedback left and feedback that I need to give.
While this would work best for me this would enable users to customize the emails they receive as well.
Just a thought...

I would be in favor of one email a day with a summary of all of the messages I received that day. Or even something that just said, "you have new messages" that would prompt me to go to the site and check things out.

I'm all for a 'daily digest' instead of separate notifications of each message or notification. Even if is a simple "you have new messages or notifications at TCDB" message. I've got to go into the messaging system to mark the messages and notifications as read anyway, I don't need all the details in the email.

This is similar to what Sportlots does - if you have any new messages at a certain point overnight (not sure on the timing), you get an email at that time saying you have unread messages. I'd prefer a "timer-based" system as opposed to the "if you have any unread messages at a specific time" system. If it's been 24 hours, send me a message. If the message was sent at 2:58 am and the emails go out at 3:00 am, that's useless to me (which is how Sportlots works - just not sure of the time).

I have emails disabled in all sections. Like others, I just check for the envelope or bell when I visit the site.
