I was adding a new set to my collection. Thought maybe an edit note was appropriate.
Where did that edit notes etc go???

If a set has been validated it is locked and no more edits can be made. Admin will have to unlock it. I've come across far too many sets that have been incorrectly/incompletely validated.
Brings up a pet peeve, I came across a set that had EVERY Note UER, ERR, COR changed to VAR. And EVERY Note2 UER, ERR, COR changed to VAR. Then the set was validated. I had to ask Admin to unlock the set. And I have to do a lot of research to find out which card is the ERR and which is the COR. You would think a Level 8 would know better.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Maybe set validation should have an approval or rejection tool similar to some of the tools in the IR section? That way it would take three Level 8's agreement to turn it on, and we would have the opportunuty to review and reject the validation before it is put in place.

Three may be excessive. Maybe start with just two Level 8's; a second set of eyes. But, like I said "a Level 8 should know better." We shouldn't have this happening.
I know there are other issues with some members having certain permissons and not following guidelines. Maybe Admin should think about revoking permissions for a probation period. Some might argue, "you'll piss them off and they'll leave". But what if they do leave? Look at all the extra work they're creating for others correcting their continous mistakes. Are they really contributing?

I think its interesting that permissions are granted through points, but points are gained easiest by uploading images (at least I think that's the easiest). Uploading images doesn't really denote knowlege or show responsibility for the site. I'll go along editing what I can with my level 7.

Well, I have so much going on I can't get past level 6. If I had level 7 & 8, we would be in BIG trouble because I found so many "goofups" just simply adding cards, I'd be tempted to try and correct whatever I came across. I'm not even into my FLEER Stickers' adds and we could have our own "Project" happening. lol. THEY ARE A MESS, so IRs are the best I could do and a few pleaing posts. !
BTW: My Other Collectible Guide has taken a few twists and turns, there is alot of info to incorporate. Much bigger task than anticipated but I will finish and present it to ADMIN for edit and approval.

The Change Log should be looked at and determined who erroneously changed those notes. Locking the sets doesn't seem to go into the logs. Well, at least not the the ones we see. I'm sure Admin can find out who did it.
Without naming any names, I know of three instances where users were either outright denied permissions or limited in their access by Admin. I like that the site is willing to "take control back" when necessary. I presonally think it should be more often, but it's not my site to say.
Also, Admin can "roll back" sets to how they were at a certain time. If anything like that ever happens again, alert Admin and hopefully the set can be reverted without a lot of work. Additionally, an e-mail to the member who did that explaining the error and the work caused is certainly in order - as a means of teaching. I contact members whenever I see errors made (usually in large quantities) to educate. We all make mistakes - it's not that I contact everyone on every little thing. That goes with the territory. I'm talking those who continually submit photographed images, or edit the notes (incorrectly) of just a single player, etc.

-- Dan -- Note: Please see my profile for more info regarding trading (section updated 3/4/2024). I have added a large portion of my inventory to the site, and currently have trading turned on (details are in my profile).

Sorry for being an idiot but I cannot find the "Turn on editing" click that used to be on site.

Just below " Front submitted by " is the icons for twitter. To the far right of that line is the "Turn Editing On" button.
