Scans and checklist submissions are "auto"-point generators but Admin does award points monthly based on other contributions to the site.  For example, I believe I was granted about ~325 points at the beginning of this month, presumably for edits made over the course of May.

There's no real shortcut to 1000/10,000 points though as far as I know.

I'm not sure the amount either, but I do know that I pick up a nice chunk of points each month for my assorted team/name validations performed in the "Things to Do" link.

Last I knew, a front and back scan got you a total of 3 points. As far as I know, there isn't a published total for validation/checklist uploading.

5 points per checklist.
1 point for a front scan.
1 point for a back scan (if it does not have a corresponding front scan, else it's 2 points).
1 point for properly cropping a scan in the "Crop Help" area.
1 point for adding a Packaging image.
1 point for adding Trivia (it must get approved).
1 point for adding an external link to a PID (such as the player's Baseball Reference page link).
1 point for each IR resolved (Admin has to approve those points).

And as previously mentioned, Admin will add points for constructive edits (adding PIDs when needed, correcting teams, selecting the correct team, other corrections, etc.)
