...and to add. If they are the all plastic ones, you can still use them as packing material for a box.

I guess I'm a bit opposite from you guys. I re-use every single paper BM, if I can open it without destroying it OR if it wasn't seriously damaged before it got to me. And I NEVER slice open the end with a razor or similar blade. ANY BM's with a plastic exterior go in the trash. They can't be opened without destruction and that makes them useless to me and recyclers here don't allow them. I don't deal with Amazon stuff much, but the ebay plastic BM's are garbage once opened. Everyone sending them to me over-folds them so that just opening them rips open the bottom end or middle and makes the top end useless as well. I HATE getting those plastic BM's! The only plastic BM's I use are the USPS PM BM's and that's out of necessity for the weight of a package. I re-use ALL salvagable paper or cardboard shipping materials and any inner plastics (toploaders, team bags, penny sleeves, etc.).
I guess I could take the suggestions here and save the plastic BM's for packing material for other trades in the future. I'll take that into consideration and maybe add them to my stockpile of shipping materials.

I reuse them when I can but I also use brand new if I need to as well.
I have never, ever purchased a toploader. Every single one I use in a trade is one that something came to me in. I do not use them for my collection. I have purchased penny sleeves and team bags though. I usually lose them before I run out so there's lots of half empty packages around... somewhere.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. The ebay poly mailers have a second adhesive strip added for the reuse of them, Just open via the perforated strip! A few seconds with scissors can recreate an easily tapeable flap on any sliced open bubble mailer,

That is what I do with the BM (aka puffies) I reuse every one either to mail or in a box to take up space or as packing material

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

I’m totally different. I never so far have traded any card I have to anyone via mail. However have a ton of those bubbles mailers sitting in boxes. So maybe not too different after all.
Recycling (except aluminum cans & possibly cardboard/ newspapers) total shame in the first place but that’s a whole other topic. If it makes you feel good to recycle then do it but it takes more energy to recycle most things then the cost of the item. We have 10 thousand years before we would run out of land for dumps and we can actually produce energy from them in the land filled and turn them into parks but if it makes you feel good then that’s really all that matters.

Where I LIVE THE COUNTY IS SPENDING MORE TO GET RID OFF PLACTIC THEN THE TRASH NOW A DAYS. Nobody needs it because so much is being recycled. And countries that took it in are stopping now.
And pizza boxes can not be recycled because of grease preventing bo from breaking down by water in recycling process we are told.

Unless you reuse them they are trash. the paper has plastic mixed with it and glues for the bubble part to stick. They're just like a Starbucks paper coffee cup they can not be recycled and wind up in the landfills.

What is that behind you!?! Oh, It's me! Looking at the cards you have, That I want. :)

So all those people looking down on me and making me feel small for using a straw (that I use for a week at a time) in my travel mug are producing more waste then I am as they sip there $5+ Starbucks. Such elitists hypocrites.
