I wish this could be settled once and for all. "Team issues" are generallly photos and postcards put out by the team for the media, fan mail, and other occasions. The number of team issues has diminished greatly in the last ten years.
Sets like Kahn's and those considered "Police/Safety" are not team-issued, in spite of the fact they may have been distributed at the ballpark. I can say with assuredness that the printing bills for those issues were not covered by the teams.

"printing bills ... covered by the teams" helps me greatly in trying to determine how to proceed, particularly with Ohio State team sets that are sponsored. Thanks!

I think there are limited number of categories that people would like to deal with. Most don't care who payed for the printing. What is important is to get them listed in a grouping as accurately as possible so people know where to look for them. Otherwise the categories would be limitless and self defeating in purpose.

I specifically mentioned paying the bills because one of our members is convinced the teams "issued" some of these sets.
It's a valid criteria.

Not sure where this post is going......NO MORE categories added? or rename Team Issues? or subdivide Team Issues?

Dave is 100% correct here. Team Issue is completely different than Team Set. And the team has to be the one making and distributing the set for it be Team Issue.

Agreed, its the same in hockey. Tons of sets are team sets not team issue.

So, for a set to be catalogued as "Team Issued" the team itself has to have printed and distributed it? In the example of Safety/Police sets, are they to be considered not team issued because theey are sponsored (i.e. paid for) by another organization?
Maybe a more appropriate term would be "Stadium Giveaway". That would include any cards or sets obtained at the park from the team. Or is it too broad?

OK, so if the terminology needs adjusting, lets ask L8s first, then send a message to ADMIN. And if it is adjusted, let all members know. Isn't that the way it is usually handled?

So long as this doesn't result in the Kahn's sets being put back in food issues (they were not issued with food, they were SGA's), I'll go with whatever the group decides. Ditto for Mother's Cookies, Keebler, Dunkin Donuts and the 1990s Lykes Braves sets. All of those were SGA's, none of them were issued with food.
