If anyone has done business with Gregg Wieder and if you buy Now or Topps Living you probably have, you know the beyond excellent service he provides to his customers. For the first time ever there was a problem with a card. It was bent maybe in shipping or while putting the cards in the selves who the hell knows. Anyway I reported it to Gregg and he said keep the damaged one and he would send a replacement which he did. My problem is it acceptable to pass a damaged card on to a fellow collector as a pay it forward card? Or is that just a waste of time to collectors. Its got a crease along one side of the bottom of the card. Not good enough for a 2020 card but maybe a place holder till they get a good one? Waste of a stamp or should I send it out? Thanks for your honest feedback.

I've received poor/filler cards and I've passed on filler cards to members. But first the question was asked of me and of them, "would you like this card?" I provide scans. I haven't been turned down. And I've passed on the fillers I've received once I get a replacement. And a lot I'm keeping just because I really don't care a lot about card condition.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Just my opinion, which I guess is what you're asking for.
I am extremely picky about the condition of the vintage cards I get/purchase for my complete sets. (That's why I don't trade for those cards.) I also collect Royals cards for my team collection. Those Royals cards are cards in which condition is secondary to "having" the card. While there are conditions which I would deem unacceptable, a crease is not one of them.
If the card is a Royals card, I would welcome it into my collection. 😀

I, and I'm sure some others, generally wouldn't want a creased card of something this new, others are likely fine with it. It's definitely something I would contact the potential recipient first to get their preference rather than PIFing blindly.

Use it as a filler card. I'm sure we've all had a trade come in with some junk wax cards to fill in a package; I'd take this over more 88 Donruss any day.

It’s not a royals card it’s the $6.99 Fingers card from topps living. He is the HOF on the Athletic’s.

Thanks for the advice. I just put the card the shredder. Problem solved.

I use dinged, wax-back, creased cards for protector/filler cards when I ship.
