So as of today i'm off for 2 weeks due to this little coughing issue going around. I went and purchased a scanner today so i can start adding images to some of the missing cards on the site. I'm only 3 cards in already and have noticed that my scanner or possibly the software i'm using to edit the pics is having a hard time picking up the edge of the white on the card and the scanner background. Would it help to use a sheet of colored paper on top of the card so i can easily pick up where its edges are or is there a simpler way? The scanner i purchased was the epson v39. I can't place the cards at the edges of the bed as it doesn't scan all the way to the edge so i'm left to free place the cards onto it.

You can just leave the lid open, but I have used colored paper or basically any solid, dark, non-white thing to lay over the cards to provide contrast.

Put a blue paper yellow green orange any other color you like. Or like someone else said leave the lid open. I know some people don't like that as a solution but it works too

I'll echo previous comments. Scan a larger area, straighten and crop the picture manually.

Believe you me, cropping the backs of Topps Chrome cards can be an adventure to find the bottom corners sometimes.
