Looking at previous scans, I think thats a rather harsh and hasty decision on a 25 year old card that needed one card to finish the set and hasn't been touched in years. While I agree, the scan needs to be replaced, I don't think revoking scanning abilities is warranted on him/her.

Is the only complaint because it was scanned inside the plastic wrap ??? Sure that's not Ideal but possbly this person didn't want to open it (if he has whole set that way) so any image is better than no image .

1. I've seen many bad scans on this site of people who have a high number of scans up I think taking away at least the auto part could help some of this problem.
2. According to the FAQ if cards are released in top loaders by the manufacture then scans in the top loaders are fine. I'm guessing this extends plastic as well. I wouldn't want to take these out of the plastic.

It looks like the images have been marked for replacement which is the proper procedure here. Nobody needs to lose their upload privileges over one image that goes against the rules, but if there's a clear pattern of that then the person should be reported to Admin. It's been discussed a number of times here but cards should be scanned outside of their packaging, such as the plastic wrapper in this case. Also, to hopefully preempt a potential argument, examples of other images that don't follow the rules aren't proof of a precedent, and those should be noted with inaccuracy reports as well.

Regarding #2 - I had posted examples a while back of the 1978 Topps Murphy (Cerone/Diaz/Whitt) card on top of an unopened cello pack. It was deemed that even though cards sealed in top loaders were allowed, cards on top (or bottom) of cello packs are not allowed.

And regarding #1 most of those scans are from the site's infancy when scanning technology was well below what it is today, but yes it still happens now. Hunting down these really old scans should not be a priority in my opinion, many more pressing data issues should be.
I have been spending more and more time in the crop queue over the past several weeks. The above example is incorrect, but you should see some of the other stuff that gets turfed daily. Pictures of people holding cards in hand, pictures of cards standing up on card stands in slabs or top loaders, pictures of people taking selfies in mirrors, and obvious photographs from a phone cropped really close hoping they would go unoticed, but there is a reason photos are not allowed...they are blurry, have an "hour glass" effect, are rarely straight, show the cards, especially chrome, "bowed," and have shadows and reflections all over them.

The issue with these cards is they were released one card per pack. So they weren't released in cellos they were released individually in loafs of bread.

Regardless - cello packaging is not allowed.
